Antique Mid 18thC Vincennes Sevres Porcelain Saucer Porzellan Untertasse French. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A very rare find - a very early saucer made by Vincennes just before 1750. It is very rare to find a piece this early by them when they still copied the top German makers in terms of style of decoration.

The saucer is of a trembleuse shape with a little edge to the well to keep the cup from moving around easily. It is hand painted with two larger floral designs as well as lots of smaller single flowers scattered around. Gold trim to the edge and well rim.

The flowers are in the wood cut style that the top German maker used until the mid 1740s or so. Vincennes used these very early on as well. They look great and the soft paste always looks much nicer than hard paste porcelain. I always wanted to own an early example like this and was off course thrilled to find it. The piece is even is marked underneath with a crossing swords mark in over glaze enamels off course trying to imitate the top German maker in that aspect as well. The top German maker was still the leader then until Sevres took over a little while later. I owned a teapot from this period once that had the same type of mark.

The soft paste and floral design gives this piece away off course. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 6.375 inches in diameter. The piece is in good condition with just a hairline to the rim as shown. Tons of flaws to the paste when you shine a light through it typical of these very early pieces.
