Antique 19thC Sevres Porcelain Godronnee Teapot Porzellan Kanne Tea Pot French
A really nice tea pot made by Sevres in 1840 (I think as the date code is a bit hard to decipher). The piece is decorated in the Godronnee design with a ribbed / reeded type of design to the outside lower body, foot, handle and spout with raised sections and gilding to the valleys between the raised parts. Gold trim to the edges as well as handle and spout. It is a simple but very stunning looking decoration that one does not see often at all! The teapot is in OK condition but sadly the handle was off and repaired (could be done better) and the one pin under the lid that holds it in place is missing. That having been said - the piece displays perfectly. It's a great looking piece. It is marked underneath with just their typical incised marks as shown. The piece is 6.25 inches tall including the finial, 8.25 inches from handle to spout and 5.5 inches in diameter.
