A nice tea set that is a bit perplexing. It looks very much like an 18th century KPM Berlin set in style and colors but it was likely made by one of the Paris makers in the first half of the 19th century or possibly by Herend in the mid 19th century. The set is hand painted with good quality flowers - larger arrangements and small single flowers and a nice green, puce and gold trim. The handle shapes are very nice as is the figural spout of the teapot. All in all there are 19 pieces - there are seven cups, seven saucers, a teapot with lid, a sugar dish with lid and a creamer.
All pieces are in superb condition except for a little some wear to the gold trim. There were probably more cups at one time but it's just seven. Just make it a set for six with an extra set if one breaks : Each cup is 2.125 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucers are 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The teapot is 6.75 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter. Then there is a creamer which is 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. And lastly there is a lidded sugar dish which is 5.5 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. Almost none of the pieces are marked but a few have incised letters. The teapot has an F, one of the cups has an incised S. The creamer has an incised Z and there might be a few others. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Chantilly, Sevres and so on.
