The piece still has its original lid which is a bonus. It has space for five bulbs and five smaller holes for dried flowers maybe. The piece is in decent condition with damage to the "cups" of the lid as shown, two of the feet of the base have been reglued, a small chip to the right back top corner, a firing crack to the top corner of one of the "columns" and a bit of minor wear to the gilding.
The top edge is unglazed as it was fired upside down. This would often have been fully gilded but does not appear to to have been the case on this example. It displays nicely and is a rare survivor for sure. The piece is about 4.625 inches tall, 9.25 inches wide and 4.875 inches deep. It is unmarked as to the maker but was certainly made during this period and more than likely in France.France Vieux Old de jadiniere.
