A cute figurine of a sleeping gentleman and a nude putto made by Niderviller around 1800. The putto or nude boy is standing next to a tree trunk with the older boy leaning on the tree trunk and taking a nap. A hat filled with two fish is sitting on the rocks in front of them. The figurine is very detailed and painted nicely. There is the typical rock work as the base with the gold trim around the bottom.
The piece is extremely solid and heavy being made of one solid piece of porcelain. The figure displays nicely with the top foot of the older boy and the left arm of the child having been nearly invisibly restored. A small chip to the underside edge. It is marked underneath with an incised No 58 and is 5 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter on the bottom base.19thC 18th 19th century France statuette Porzellan Figur.
