Antique 18thC La Courtille Biscuit Porcelain Couple Figurine Porcelaine Locre. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A figure made by LaCourtille of France around 1780. The factory was also called Rue de la Fontaine au Roi or Locre.
The figurine is made of unglazed or biscuit porcelain and is of a couple dressed in their Sunday's best standing on a typical rock base with some greenery and the base rim underneath. The gentleman is wearing a nice hat and is holding a bird in his left hand. The lady is also wearing a nice hat and was likely holding a cane or staff in her hands which is now missing. The figure displays superbly but has a few minor damages - as I stated earlier there might have been a staff in her hands at some point, her left hand was off and damaged and has been reglued, some damage to bows in their hats, her blouse and the one on her shoe is missing and some minor chips to her hat and the base edge. A bit of staining that could easily be cleaned up but all in all a superb example! The figurine is 7.25 inches tall and the base has a diameter of about 3.5 inches.French 18th century Figur statuette.
