A really rare piece that one should not use as a giant coffee cup made in France by one of the better makers in the 18th century. Possibly by Locre or one of the other Paris region makers. It is actually a chamber pot and it is hand painted with three large floral arrangements as well as four smaller flowers and some gold trim to the edges and handle. Chamber pots and bourdaloue are quite hard to find from this period these days because they were meant to be used and thus many got broken and didn't survive to this day.
It's great to see one that is not just plain white but hand painted with polychrome flowers. Not the very top end but still a really nice survivor! The piece is not marked underneath but it is definitely French. The pot is in great condition with a touch of wear to the gilding and a firing crack to the top from when it was was - it's not really considered damage but a manufacturing flaw.
Some black firing spots and other marks to the inside. The piece makes for a great conversation starter at your next party : It displays perfectly. The chamberpot is 5 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter with the handle sticking out another 1.25 inches. So a rather large example.
