Rare antique circa 18th century, French Faience Bulb Planter. Measures: 11L x 5.75W x 5H. Condition : AS IS due to repairs around handle areas (please see pictures). Crazing, scabs, use related marks and wear. Despite imperfections the piece looks lovely.

The art of bulb cultivating became popular during 17. Tulips were cultivated from 1600s during "Tulip Mania". Hyacinths were being cultivated at the same time as tulips during the 17th century, but their popularity would not begin to eclipse that of the tulip's until the 18th century.
