Antique 18thC French Biscuit Lady & Goat Porcelain Figurine Porcelaine Figure. This product data sheet is originally written in English.

A really nice figurine made in France in the late 18th century I would guesstimate. French for sure but no idea which maker. The piece is made of unglazed or biscuit porcelain meant to imitate marble which it really does very well. The figure is of a bare breasted lady milking a goat while a putto or young child is standing next to it. All on a rectangular base with a nice grass design on top.

It's a really well modeled piece with a ton of detail but I have not been able to find it to figure out the maker. Since there is no glaze to obscure the detail it is finer than on glazed porcelain. The piece is not marked underneath which makes it hard to determine the exact maker but it is definitely French from this time period. The figure is in good condition with one of the horns of the goat having been restored pretty well, the ear in the back is missing and possible a teat of the udder of the goat but that might be from when it was made given the location.

The figurine is 6.375 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 7.75 inches long. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Derby, Sevres and so on.
