A really nice plate made by Chantilly in the 18th century. It is made of soft paste porcelain which has this warm creamy color to it and is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the center as well as two smaller flowers and four bugs on the rim. The nicely shaped edge has a brown trim to it. The plate is in good condition with a small chip right by one of the smaller flowers on the edge and a slight abrasion in another spot on the edge.
Some minor use marks to the clear glaze normal to softpaste pieces. The piece is not marked underneath which is a bit unusual but not unheard of but the design is a known one for this maker and in fact I have another plate up on the site with this design that is marked as a reference. The plate is 9.125 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches tall. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Mennecy, Sevres and so on.
